Odoo MCP on Enterprise is still a hosting question.
Enterprise does not magically include the Online external API. Custom vs Standard still matters on Odoo Online. sh and self-hosted can install an MCP module. Confirm 19.4 MCP on the tenant.

Enterprise is not one machine
Odoo Online Standard + Enterprise apps still without external API. Custom adds the API (and a bill). Odoo.sh can install more modules. Self-hosted Enterprise is yours to break. Online · sh · self-hosted.
19.4’s MCP line is not “every Enterprise customer ticked a box.” Odoo 19.4 MCP.
Why a module still exists on Enterprise
Native connectivity is not the same as OAuth 2.1, read-only defaults, write approval and audit. That is why a governance module exists even if 19.4 MCP is on. Security. Odin: 18 and 19, Community and Enterprise.
Who owns the connector in an Enterprise account
The Odoo.com subscription owner, the sh project admin, and the Claude/ChatGPT workspace admin are often three people. MCP fails in the gaps. Put names on a page: who rotates the key, who approves write tools, who confirms 19.4 on the tenant.
Partners who “hold” the database make this worse. Who owns your Odoo database.
Enterprise features that are not MCP
Studio, IoT, and Odoo AI do not replace a Claude connector. Do not let a licence quote bury the MCP design. Buy Enterprise for Enterprise reasons; design MCP as its own control plane.
